Absolutely — and in many ways, you're the ideal candidate. The FRANOMICS® methodology was built specifically for experienced corporate professionals who have deep management, operations, sales, or leadership skills but have never applied them to their own enterprise. Franchising in particular is designed for operators, not entrepreneurs — you're buying a proven system, not inventing one. Our intake process maps your existing skills directly to ownership models that suit them. Most of our clients have never owned a business before they work with us.

How is ProprietorPath™ different from a standard franchise consultant?

Most franchise consultants match you to a brand and collect a referral fee from the franchisor. ProprietorPath™ is a structured ownership transition platform: we have a proprietary 6-step methodology (FRANOMICS®), a 15-point forensic scorecard, an in-house lending division (LoansBloom™), an M&A brokerage arm (BizQuisition™) for acquisition targets, and a family investment office (Oval Equity Partners) that co-invests in qualifying deals. Jewan Tiwari is also a licensed franchise consultant in 49 states, a licensed Virginia Realtor, and mortgage licensed — a credential stack no single franchise broker in this market matches. We don't just find you a business. We structure the capital, run the due diligence, and support the close.

What does "co-investment" through Oval Equity Partners actually mean?

Oval Equity Partners is Jewan Tiwari's family investment office. For qualifying acquisitions — typically those scoring 85+ on the FRANOMICS® composite and meeting specific financial criteria — OEP can provide equity co-investment alongside the client. This means Jewan has skin in the game in deals he recommends. This is available at the Pathway Pro tier and above, and is subject to OEP's internal investment committee review. Not every deal qualifies, but the offer is real and backed by personal capital.

How long does the process take from intake to owning a business?

For the franchise track (ETF), our average is 90 days from intake to signed Franchise Agreement. For the acquisition track (ETA), the process typically takes 16 weeks from intake to closed deal, given the additional due diligence involved in buying an existing business. The Sovereign Sprint™ runs 16 weeks of structured engagement regardless of track. Variables that affect timeline include capital readiness, territory availability, and how quickly you move through the decision-making process.

Capital & financing

What if I don't have $100,000 in liquid capital?

$100,000 in liquid capital is a general guideline, not a hard floor. Through ROBS (Rollover for Business Startups), qualified retirement savings — 401(k), IRA, pension — can be converted into startup capital without early withdrawal penalties or income taxes. Through our SBA lending partners (ReadyCap, East West Bank, SmartBiz), clients with strong credit profiles and business plans can access SBA 7(a) loans up to $5M with as little as 10–20% down. We also have alternative capital solutions for candidates who don't fit conventional SBA criteria. The FRANOMICS® intake process includes a capital assessment to map what's actually available to you.

What is a ROBS and is it safe?

ROBS stands for Rollover for Business Startups. It's an IRS-compliant structure that allows you to use qualified retirement funds (401k, IRA) to invest in a new business without incurring early withdrawal penalties or taxable distributions. The structure involves forming a C-Corp, creating a 401(k) plan for that corporation, and rolling your existing retirement funds into it — which then purchases shares of the new corporation. It is legal, extensively used, and recognized by the IRS, but it must be set up correctly by a specialist. We work with a vetted network of ROBS administrators as part of the LoansBloom™ capital architecture.

Do I pay ProprietorPath™ fees on top of the franchise or acquisition cost?

Yes. The ProprietorPath™ program fee ($5,500–$15,500 depending on tier) is a separate advisory and engagement fee. For franchise consulting, Jewan also receives a referral fee paid by the franchisor — standard industry practice that we disclose fully. For business acquisitions through BizQuisition™, a brokerage success fee applies at close. We are transparent about every fee, every time, before you commit to anything.

Risk & outcomes

What if the franchise fails? What's the recourse?

No advisory firm can guarantee business outcomes, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we can guarantee is the quality of the process: the FRANOMICS® Forensic Scorecard, the Truth Probe™ validation, FDD Item 19 deep review, and the 5-Year Exit Blueprint all exist to minimize the probability of making a bad investment. For businesses scoring 85+ on the composite where OEP co-invests, Jewan's personal capital is at risk alongside yours — which is the strongest possible alignment of incentives. For enrolled clients, post-close support through the First Year Owner's Circle provides quarterly check-ins to identify and address issues early.

I have a security clearance. Can I still own a franchise or business?

Yes — and this is one of the most underserved needs in the DMV market. FRANOMICS® Criterion 12 specifically screens every franchise brand and acquisition target for clearance compatibility. Foreign-owned brands, brands operating in restricted sectors, or businesses involving financial relationships that could trigger CFIUS or ODNI review are flagged and filtered. We serve a significant number of defense and GovCon professionals in Northern Virginia and have developed our clearance screening specifically for this community.

Can I run a franchise while still working full-time?

Some franchise models are specifically designed for semi-absentee ownership — meaning a General Manager runs daily operations while you provide strategic oversight. These are a subset of our 400+ brand portfolio and are explicitly identified during the Forensic Explorer™ phase. If semi-absentee operation is a requirement for you, we make that a filter from the start of the process. We would not recommend an owner-operator model to someone who cannot commit full-time — that would be a disservice to the client and to the franchisor.

Who will I actually be working with — Jewan directly or his team?

Jewan Tiwari is personally involved in every ProprietorPath™ engagement. At the Pathway Pro and Sovereign Sprint™ tiers, you have direct advisory access to Jewan throughout the process. At the Starter tier, you work with Jewan through the intake and matching phases, with specialist support from the broader OBG team for capital and legal coordination. This is not a lead-generation business that hands you off to a junior consultant — Jewan is the methodology and the principal relationship throughout.

Is ProprietorPath™ only available in Northern Virginia?

Jewan is licensed as a franchise consultant in 49 states (all except New York) and has capital relationships, brokerage network access, and franchise brand availability across the country. While the core market focus and deepest local intelligence is in the DMV — Northern Virginia, Maryland, DC Metro — we serve clients nationally.
